Product Description

Wilson Combat Classic Supergrade .45 ACP – Hand-Built Masterpiece for the Discerning 1911 Aficionado

Few modern pistols embody old-world craftsmanship quite like Wilson Combat’s Classic Supergrade. This full-size, single-stack 1911 was hand-built by a single master pistolsmith, individually test-fired, and guaranteed by the factory to print 1-inch groups at 25 yards. Finished in the marque’s signature polished-flat/matte-round stainless motif and wearing smooth mammoth-ivory stocks, this 2009–2011 example represents the apogee of the Supergrade program—now produced in very small numbers. The right slide flat is factory-engraved “Classic Supergrade,” while a tasteful Jungbyeon Moon inscription confirms its bespoke origins. Collectible, mechanically outstanding, and aesthetically striking, it is the kind of pistol that rarely surfaces outside private collections.

Condition: Very good. Metal surfaces show only faint, superficial handling marks visible under close inspection. The bore is immaculate—mirror-bright with sharp, unworn lands and grooves. Controls, safeties, and the tuned 3½–4½ lb trigger break remain crisp. Overall presentation reflects careful use and proper care consistent with a lightly fired, high-value custom gun.

What’s Included: Wilson Combat embroidered gray soft case and three 8-round stainless Wilson Combat magazines with witness holes.

Hand-fit, match-grade components define the Supergrade lineage. The 5-inch stainless barrel is perfectly mated to the slide and bushing for repeatable lock-up, while a 30 LPI serrated top rib and 40 LPI rear-of-slide serrations tame glare without compromising the pistol’s classic lines. Rear cocking serrations only—another Supergrade hallmark—keep the presentation clean. The Lo-Mount adjustable rear sight teams with a tritium front blade to deliver a 6.6-inch sight radius and a precise daylight or low-light picture.

Internally, Wilson’s Bullet-Proof fire-control parts, a skeletonized hammer, and an aluminum three-hole trigger with over-travel adjustment yield a competition-grade break that experienced 1911 shooters will immediately appreciate. A single-side extended thumb safety and a high-ride beavertail grip safety provide familiar, intuitive 1911 controls without extraneous levers.

Beyond the mechanical pedigree, two factors elevate this pistol’s collectability: 1) the entire Classic Supergrade line was discontinued in April 2020, and 2) every example was built start-to-finish by one gunsmith, resulting in extremely low annual output. Paired with its factory mammoth-ivory panels—no longer offered—and personalized slide script, this particular gun stands apart even within the rarefied Supergrade pool.

If you value heirloom-level workmanship, peerless accuracy, and the knowledge that only a handful of shooters will ever own a pistol quite like this one, the Classic Supergrade deserves a place in your safe—ready to be admired today and passed down tomorrow.
