Scalloped fish-scale rear serrations are unique to early M&P slides and offer solid purchase when cycling the action. A visual loaded-chamber inspection port and external extractor add straightforward status checks.
The polymer frame blends a Zytel-based glass-filled mix with an embedded stainless-steel chassis for flex control and long-term durability. Three interchangeable palmswell inserts allow the shooter to fine-tune grip size without tools.
Internal safety architecture includes a hinged-lever trigger safety, striker-block, and an integrated sear-deactivation lever, enabling disassembly without pressing the trigger. Combined with the reversible magazine release, the setup supports both right- and left-handed shooters.
