1949 Winchester Model 94 Pre-64 Half-Magazine Carbine, .25-35 Winchester, 20" Barrel
This 1949 Winchester Model 94 Pre-64 Half-Magazine Carbine pairs collectible status with practical design. Built from forged steel and chambered in the increasingly scarce .25-35 WCF, it features a factory special-order three-round magazine that ends at the front barrel band. A Williams FP receiver peep sight replaces the original rear sight for precise adjustment, while the unused barrel dovetail is neatly plugged. With its 20-inch Winchester Proof Steel barrel, blued finish, and straight-grip walnut stock, this carbine represents one of the last years Winchester offered these special-order options before streamlining production in the 1950s.

Serial number 1573162 confirms 1949 production during the desirable pre-64 era, noted for full forged and milled steel construction. Winchester WP proofs appear on both the barrel and receiver ring, attesting to factory originality.
The round 20-inch Winchester Proof Steel barrel carries six-groove, right-hand 1-in-8 rifling suited to the .25-35 cartridge. Combined with the top-eject action, it delivers the reliability Model 94s are known for.
Plain-grade American black walnut furniture features a straight grip and carbine fore-end, both finished in oil. A checkered steel buttplate caps the 13-inch length of pull, maintaining classic Model 94 handling.
The aftermarket Williams FP receiver sight gives the shooter a precise, adjustable aperture while leaving the factory blade front sight on its ramp untouched. The original barrel rear-sight dovetail is professionally plugged for a clean look.
