Ruger M77 Mark II “Carpenter Technology 100 Years of Progress” .222 Remington Limited-Edition Bolt Action Rifle
This Ruger M77 Mark II commemorative is rifle number 2164 of just 2,440 produced in 1996 to honor Carpenter Technology Corporation’s centennial. Never offered to dealers, it was distributed exclusively to Carpenter employees and VIPs, making it difficult to source on today’s market. Built around Ruger’s full-size M77 Mark II platform—the only run ever chambered in .222 Remington—it features stainless construction from Carpenter’s proprietary alloy, factory laser scroll engraving, and a hand-some walnut stock.

What’s Included
- Brown leather Carpenter Technology commemorative sling (installed)
Produced during Ruger’s mid-1990s stainless era, this rifle pairs a 22-inch, hammer-forged barrel with a controlled-round-feed action and a Mauser-type claw extractor. The matte bead-blast finish extends across the receiver, bolt, and floorplate, all machined from Carpenter’s high-grade alloy for uniform color and corrosion resistance.
Factory laser scrollwork covers the receiver ring, bridge, bolt handle, bolt shroud, and forward barrel section. The barrel also carries an ornamental “C” scroll, the full “Carpenter Technology Corporation” inscription, and sequential “___ of 2440” numbering that matches the receiver.
The one-piece American walnut stock wears wrap-around diamond checkering, a shallow palm-swell pistol grip, a black rubber recoil pad, and quick-detachable sling swivels. Ruger’s three-position wing safety and a 4-round internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate provide familiar handling for shooters and collectors alike.
The rifle ships with its original Carpenter-marked sling already installed. Factory stainless scope mounts are integral to the receiver, ready for optics of the new owner’s choosing.
