This U.S.–built SA58 is DS Arms’ faithful, 922(r)-compliant reproduction of the classic FN FAL, finished in durable matte black DuraCoat over manganese phosphate. It pairs an 18-inch 4140 steel barrel with an original-pattern Belgian combo flash hider, giving shooters near-full 7.62 NATO velocity in a handier length. Backwards-compatible with metric-pattern FAL parts, this rifle offers collectors and shooters a solid, ready-to-run example of the “Right Arm of the Free World.”

Overall Condition: Good – shows some signs of prior use and handling.

Specific Condition Notes: Exterior metal presents scattered scratches and finish blemishes from normal handling. Rifling displays very minor blemishing but remains sharp and serviceable.

Built on a 4140 cast-steel receiver with original FN lightening cuts and a carry-handle slot, the SA58 preserves the look and feel of its Belgian predecessor while benefiting from modern materials and machining.
The 18-inch barrel features a standard profile, 1:10 RH twist, and 9/16-24 LH threads capped with a Belgian combo flash hider. This length balances ballistics and maneuverability, making the rifle comfortable both on the bench and in the field.
DS Arms retains the short-stroke gas-piston system that made the FAL renowned for reliability. An adjustable gas-regulator ring lets the shooter fine-tune cycling for different loads, while the non-reciprocating charging handle keeps hands clear during operation.
Ergonomics follow the proven metric pattern: a fixed black polymer hump-back stock, a matching pistol grip, and a full-length glass-filled nylon handguard with elongated cooling vents. Iron sights include an elevation-adjustable front post and a windage-adjustable rear aperture mounted on the receiver.
Because DS Arms maintains metric-pattern dimensions, owners can accessorize with a wide range of surplus and aftermarket FAL components, magazines, and slings, adding versatility to this already capable 7.62 NATO platform.
