Troy Alpha Carbine 5.56mm NATO Semi-Automatic Rifle with 16” Free-Float Barrel & Pinned M4 Stock
This early-generation Troy Alpha Carbine represents Troy Industries’ first foray into complete rifle production. Built on forged 7075-T6 receivers roll-marked simply “TROY CARBINE,” it showcases the company’s iconic 13″ Alpha free-float rail, lightweight construction, and factory mid-length gas system. The rifle retains its original GJJ-prefix serial range from the West Springfield, Massachusetts era, making it a notable piece for enthusiasts tracking Troy’s evolution from parts supplier to OEM firearm maker.

What’s Included
- Troy Alpha Carbine 5.56mm NATO rifle
- Magpul PMAG 30 Gen M3 30-round polymer magazine
The 16″ chrome-moly steel barrel features a 1:7 right-hand twist, mid-length gas system, and a 3-chamber muzzle brake installed on 1/2-28 threads, keeping recoil mild and follow-up shots quick.
Troy’s 13″ Alpha free-float rail, machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, provides ample M1913 rail space across its length while eliminating the traditional front sight tower for an unobstructed sight picture and better balance.
The rifle ships with flip-up back-up iron sights, including an aftermarket Votatu rear unit, allowing shooters to run optics yet retain instant mechanical sighting capability.
A 6-position M4-pattern polymer stock has been mechanically pinned to a fixed length, a permanent modification often required in restrictive jurisdictions, while the Hogue-style over-molded grip offers secure, ergonomic control.
Weighing roughly 6.5 lb unloaded, the Alpha Carbine remains maneuverable without sacrificing the durability expected from its forged receivers and hard-coat anodized finish.
