This all-steel Colt New Frontier .22 G-series revolver combines the flat-top adjustable-sight profile of the center-fire New Frontier with rimfire economy. Built between 1970 and 1977, and this one adds factory floral scroll engraving on the butt plus richly mottled color-case-hardening on the frame. A 6-inch blued barrel, micrometer rear sight, and checkered hard-rubber “Eagle” grips complete a package prized by shooters and Colt collectors alike. Manufacture year: 1976.

The G-series New Frontier .22 is built on a solid carbon-steel frame, giving it more heft and durability than earlier alloy-framed Scouts. The color-case-hardened frame contrasts with the deep Colt blue on the barrel, cylinder, and ejector housing, creating the classic two-tone look of premium Colt single actions.
A tall, serrated ramp front sight is fixed to the 6-inch round barrel, while a fully adjustable square-notch rear sight offers precise windage and elevation control. This flat-top sight arrangement was produced in far smaller numbers than the fixed-sight Peacemaker .22s, adding collector appeal.
Factory checkered black hard-rubber grips display the Rampant Colt medallion and U.S. Great Seal eagle motif, providing secure purchase and period-correct style. The butt carries a factory floral scroll engraving strip, an uncommon embellishment on rimfire New Frontiers.
Internally, the revolver uses the same single-action lockwork found in Colt’s center-fire Single Action Army, with a half-cock notch for safe loading. Six-shot .22 LR chambers and the sturdy full-length ejector-rod housing make this revolver equally suited to careful target work or relaxed plinking.
