Sig Sauer P220R Nitron Full-Size .45 ACP DA/SA Pistol | SIGLITE Night Sights, Short-Reset Trigger
Built in 2016, this P220R combines the classic SIG Sauer DA/SA operating system with modern updates such as SIGLITE tritium sights, an integral accessory rail, and the factory Short-Reset Trigger. The Nitron-finished stainless slide and hard-coat anodized alloy frame keep weight manageable while delivering duty-grade durability. As one of the last Exeter, NH–produced P220 pistols before SIG shifted to Legion and optics-ready variants, it offers both practical performance and collector appeal.

The P220R’s Nitron-coated stainless slide rides on a lightweight alloy frame, producing a duty-size .45 that tips the scales at roughly 30 oz yet remains exceptionally robust. Vertical rear serrations give a secure purchase for press checks and charging in adverse conditions.
SIGLITE three-dot tritium sights deliver a bright, 24-hour sight picture, while the 6.3-inch sight radius aids in precise shot placement. The integral SIG/M1913 rail accepts lights and lasers without adapters—a feature absent from earlier, non-rail P220 variants.
The curved Short-Reset Trigger (SRT) cuts reset travel by about 60 percent versus the original design, enabling faster follow-up shots while retaining the familiar double-action first pull with an exposed hammer and decocker.
Included P220-1 magazines represent the latest generation, featuring strengthened feed lips and numbered witness holes. They remain backward-compatible with all P220 pistols manufactured since 1975.
Serial range 37B-prefix and the 2016 case date place this example in the final years of Exeter, NH production—offering an opportunity to own a mature iteration of the platform before later Legion and optics-ready models took center stage.
