Built on the AKM platform, the IZ-104 shares roughly 70 percent parts commonality with standard AK rifles, giving owners access to a wide aftermarket and familiar ergonomics. The stamped steel receiver carries the Izhevsk triangle-arrow proof and crisp “SAIGA-410” markings that verify Russian origin.
The shotgun uses a two-position gas regulator to tune reliability across light target loads and heavier defensive or hunting shells. Its long-stroke piston action is chrome lined for corrosion resistance, and the manual safety/selector lever mirrors the traditional AK layout.
The 19-inch chrome-lined smoothbore barrel accepts 3-inch shells and incorporates a Lancaster-style internal profile that aids shot dispersion, delivering tighter patterns than a plain cylinder bore without traditional rifling. AK-type open sights—drift-adjustable front post and 100-meter graduated rear notch—give quick alignment, while the left-side optics rail accommodates Russian pattern or Picatinny adapters for red dots or scopes.
Lightweight black polymer furniture keeps heft down and withstands hard use. The fixed sporter stock offers a 13.5-inch length of pull and an integrated semi-pistol-grip, while the fore-end features a single-piece design with a finger groove for secure handling. A sling-swivel stud is molded into the stock for easy carry options.
Four magazines are included—one 10-round, two 5-round, and one 4-round—giving versatile capacity right out of the box. Combined with its pre-sanctions provenance, chrome-lined barrel, and AKM compatibility, this Saiga-410 stands out as a practical and collectible Russian semi-auto shotgun.
