Finished in the distinctive Legion Black and built in 2021, this pistol offers duty-grade capacity, suppressor-height tritium sights that co-witness with red-dot optics, and the refined ergonomics that define the Legion line.

The Legion SAO configuration delivers a crisp, flat-faced Grayguns P-SAIT trigger with short-reset travel and an adjustable over-travel stop, giving 1911-style consistency in a modern double-stack frame. An enhanced beavertail and X-Five under-cut promote a higher grip, reducing muzzle rise and quickening follow-up shots.
The R2 slide is milled for SIG’s Romeo1 PRO or DPP-footprint optics and retains a removable plate laser-etched “LEGION.” Suppressor-height SIG XRAY3 sights provide an immediate sight picture and true co-witness through a mounted optic.
Front, rear, and trigger-guard checkering—once exclusive to SIG’s Custom Shop—are standard, improving purchase in all conditions. The hard-anodized aluminum frame keeps weight low without sacrificing durability, while the Legion PVD/Cerakote Elite finish resists corrosion and wear.
Despite its compact 3.9-inch carbon-steel barrel, the P229 Legion SAO R2 accepts 15-round flush-fit magazines, offering full-size capacity in a concealable profile. Legion ownership also grants access to exclusive SIG Sauer gear and training events.
