Remington Nylon 66 150th Anniversary Commemorative .22 LR Semi-Automatic Rifle – Limited Production, Pre-GCA 1968
This Nylon 66 marks Remington’s 150th anniversary and is one of just 3,792 rifles produced for the 1966 celebration. A gold-oval receiver medallion, polished blued barrel, and the signature Mohawk Brown Zytel-101 stock make this lightweight semi-auto instantly recognizable. Its pre-GCA status means no factory serial number, adding collector appeal.

What’s Included
- Remington Nylon 66 150th Anniversary Commemorative .22 LR rifle
Introduced for a single year, this commemorative is the rarest cataloged variant of the Nylon 66 line. The polished gold medallion on the receiver face reads “Remington Arms Company Inc. 1816-1966 150th Anniversary,” immediately identifying it as an authentic anniversary model.
Because it was completed before the 1968 Gun Control Act, the rifle was not required to carry a factory serial number. That pre-ban status, combined with the limited production run, makes each example difficult to source.
The Mohawk Brown one-piece Zytel-101 stock and receiver shell exemplify Remington’s early partnership with DuPont. The synthetic construction keeps weight around 4 lb and allows the rifle to function reliably in extreme temperatures without lubrication.
A 14-round tubular magazine hidden in the buttstock keeps the lines clean and the balance neutral. A 3/8-inch grooved receiver rail accepts optics, while factory iron sights—a serrated ramp front and screw-adjustable rear leaf—provide a solid sight picture out of the box.
