What's Included
- Ithaca M-49 .22 Short, .22 Long, and .22 Long Rifle single-shot rifle
The action is a lever-actuated single-shot falling block, Peabody/Martini type, with an external spur, rebounding hammer. This setup delivers simple operation with a capacity of one round. The safety is inherent to the rebounding hammer system.
The barrel is 18.5 in blued steel and pairs with iron sights: a front blade protected by integral ears and an adjustable rear leaf with an elevator. This sight arrangement supports precise elevation changes with a durable, easy-to-see front post.
The receiver is a die-cast zinc alloy (Zamak) finished in black baked enamel, matched to the blued barrel. The carbine profile features a false under-barrel magazine tube and a single front barrel band, with no sling swivels or saddle ring observed.
Furniture is hardwood throughout. The stock has a straight grip with pressed checkering and fleur-de-lis panels, and a black polymer buttplate. The fore-end is smooth hardwood. The length of pull measures 13.75 in, and overall weight is approximately 5.5 lb.
Made in the United States and produced from 1961 to 1978, the M-49 reflects Ithaca’s mid-century rimfire design from its Ithaca, New York facility.
