Taurus Model 82 .38 Special 4" Six-Shot Double/Single-Action Revolver – Surplus Police Trade-In
This Brazilian-made Taurus Model 82 is a full-size, six-shot service revolver chambered in .38 Special. The 4-inch medium-weight barrel balances duty-gun heft with manageable recoil, while the partial shroud protects the ejector rod without unnecessary bulk. Fixed sights—ramp front and square-notch rear milled into the top strap—offer a snag-free profile favored by agencies worldwide.
Its carbon-steel frame, cylinder, and barrel wear a polished blued finish that pairs well with the aftermarket rubber grip featuring finger grooves and gold Taurus medallions for secure handling.
The double-action/single-action mechanism incorporates an internal transfer-bar safety, allowing the revolver to be carried fully loaded with the hammer down. An exposed, checkered spur provides positive single-action cocking when deliberate precision is required.
A lanyard-loop stud on the butt and stamped rack numbers underscore its law-enforcement heritage. Proof marks include “C.A.I. GEORGIA VT.” and “MADE IN BRAZIL MOD-82,” verifying import and origin.
