Product Description

Ruger New Model Single-Six Convertible .22 LR/.22 WMR, 5.5" Barrel, Blued, 6-Shot Revolver

This late-1970s Ruger New Model Single-Six Convertible offers quick caliber changes between .22 LR and .22 WMR thanks to its factory dual-cylinder setup. Built on Ruger’s robust alloy-steel frame and finished in traditional blue, it combines classic single-action handling with the New Model transfer-bar safety system. A 5.5-inch barrel, adjustable sights, and smooth hardwood grips round out a package valued for versatility and reliability.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.
Bore Condition: Good – Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.
Rifling Condition: Good – Intact, well-defined lands and grooves.
Specific Condition Notes: The revolver shows finish loss and handling marks on the frame, barrel, and cylinder consistent with regular carry and firing.

    What’s Included

    • Ruger factory .22 WMR conversion cylinder marked “22 WMR” with Ruger emblem (not installed)

The convertible cylinder system lets you switch from inexpensive .22 LR plinking to the hotter .22 WMR cartridge without tools or additional fitting, making this revolver adaptable for varied shooting roles.

Ruger’s New Model action uses a transfer-bar safety and loading-gate interlock, allowing safe carry with all six chambers loaded while preserving the classic single-action firing sequence.

The 5.5-inch alloy-steel barrel balances quick handling with sight radius. A ramped front blade secured by a set screw pairs with a fully adjustable rear blade for precise elevation and windage control.

Serial prefix 66- dates production to approximately 1978–1979, placing this revolver early in the New Model series yet retaining desirable features such as the crescent-style ejector-rod button.
