What’s Included
- Smith & Wesson Model 642-2 Performance Center Enhanced Action Airweight revolver
Performance Center guns receive extra attention at the factory, and this 642-2 features a hand-tuned, smooth double-action-only trigger that sets it apart from standard production models. The enclosed hammer Centennial design allows snag-free draw from concealment while keeping the revolver free of external hammer openings.
The stainless-steel cylinder wears bright-polished flutes that contrast with the overall matte silver finish, adding a subtle visual highlight without compromising the low-glare exterior. Stainless steel is also used for the 1.87-inch barrel, giving durable resistance to corrosion in a compact package.
At just about 15 ounces unloaded, the aluminum-alloy frame keeps weight down for everyday carry, yet the revolver remains +P rated for use with higher-pressure defensive loads. Fixed iron sights—serrated integral ramp front and trench rear—provide a simple, snag-free sight picture under stress.
The one-piece laminated wood boot-grip, finished in a basket-weave checkering pattern and inset with S&W medallions, offers improved purchase over synthetic grips while maintaining a minimal footprint suited to pocket or ankle carry.
