Oviedo Mauser Modelo 1893 Sporterized Bolt-Action Rifle, 7mm Mauser, 19.25" Barrel (Receiver Dated 1914)
This Spanish-made Mauser Modelo 1893 began life in 1904 at the Oviedo arsenal and carries a receiver ring stamped "FABRICA DE ARMAS OVIEDO 1914." Later converted for the American sporting market, it now features a shortened 19.25-inch free-floated barrel, a reshaped hardwood stock, and upgraded open sights. What’s Included
- Oviedo Mauser Modelo 1893 sporterized bolt-action rifle (7mm Mauser, 19.25" barrel)
The barrel was professionally cut to 19.25 inches, leaving the original stepped profile intact and free-floating it for consistent harmonics. This shorter length trims weight and improves handling without sacrificing the 7×57mm’s ballistic potential.
The hardwood stock was cut down, given a semi-pistol-grip wrist, and fitted with a ventilated rubber recoil pad. With a 14.25-inch length of pull, it shoulders comfortably while maintaining the sturdiness Mausers are known for.
An aftermarket Williams adjustable rear sight pairs with the original banded ramp blade front, providing a crisp, snag-free sight picture suited to hunting or recreational shooting. The two-position flag safety remains in place for familiar Mauser operation.
Internally, the rifle retains its original five-round staggered magazine and smooth-feeding bolt design. The bolt is non-matching, typical of surplus conversions, yet it cycles cleanly and locks solidly. Overall, this rifle represents a classic World War I-era action thoughtfully adapted for modern field use.
