SIG Sauer P227 Enhanced Elite .45 ACP DA/SA Pistol – 14+1 Capacity, Night Sights, Nitron Finish, 4 Magazines
The P227 Enhanced Elite combines SIG Sauer’s double-stack .45 ACP design with the performance upgrades of the Elite series. Built on a lightweight alloy frame with an extended beavertail, this full-size pistol offers 14-round capacity, factory night sights, and the Short-Reset Trigger system. Discontinued in 2019, it remains a sought-after model for shooters who want classic SIG ergonomics paired with high round count in .45 ACP.

The Enhanced Elite package blends the P227’s double-stack architecture with forward and rear cocking serrations, an integral three-slot Picatinny rail, and a Nitron-coated stainless slide. The rail allows solid mounting of lights or lasers without aftermarket parts, while the front serrations improve press-check control.
SIG’s Short-Reset Trigger system shortens trigger travel for faster follow-up shots in both double- and single-action modes. An exposed, skeletonized spur hammer complements the system and provides positive thumb purchase for manual decocking with a holster-friendly profile.
Factory TG-H3 tritium/fiber-optic front sight and two-dot tritium rear sight deliver 24-hour visibility. Combined with the checkered front strap and trigger guard, the pistol maintains a sure grip under varied lighting and weather conditions.
The alloy frame keeps weight manageable while preserving durability. An extended beavertail promotes high-hand control and mitigates felt recoil, supporting rapid, accurate fire despite the .45 ACP chambering.
Produced from 2013 through 2019, the P227 Enhanced Elite is no longer in current SIG Sauer catalogs, giving this example—serial number prefix 51B—a measure of collectability alongside its practical value.
