The Model 111 FCNS belongs to the long-action Model 110 family, renowned for its strong dual-lug bolt and barrel-nut headspacing that allow precise barrel alignment and consistent accuracy.
A floating bolt head self-centers inside the receiver, ensuring even lug contact and solid lock-up. Combined with the button-rifled 22-inch barrel and 1:10 twist, this rifle capably stabilizes common .30-06 bullet weights.
The black synthetic stock predates Savage’s AccuStock system but keeps weight down while adding durability. Its straight comb suits scope use, molded checkering offers a secure grip, and a rubber recoil pad tames felt recoil.
Feeding is handled by a detachable 4-round magazine released by a bottom-mounted latch. A three-position tang safety lets you load and unload with the safety engaged, and the installed Weaver-style bases simplify optic installation.
