Magnum Research BFR Long-Frame 20th Anniversary Limited Edition .45-70 Gov’t Revolver – Hand-Engraved Stainless, 1 of 20
This factory-engraved Big Frame Revolver (BFR) marks the 20th year of Magnum Research’s flagship wheel-gun. Only 20 were produced, and this example (serial BR12208 within the commemorative block) carries full American scroll engraving by Tyler Gun Works on every major surface. A 7.5-inch octagon barrel, brushed-stainless construction, and the power to fire full-house .45-70 Gov’t rifle loads make it a functional showpiece prized by collectors and hunters alike.

The 20th Anniversary BFR is a true limited edition—one of just twenty hand-built long-frame revolvers released in October 2021 to celebrate two decades of continuous BFR production. Each gun left the factory with a full-coverage, hand-cut scroll pattern executed by Tyler Gun Works, adding depth and contrast against the brushed-stainless finish.
Chambered in .45-70 Gov’t, this five-shot, unfluted cylinder revolver is engineered to safely handle full-power rifle ammunition. The 7.5-inch full-octagon stainless barrel balances the 4.3-pound all-steel frame, helping tame recoil while delivering excellent downrange performance.
The long-frame configuration provides the cylinder length needed for heavy .45-70 loads, and the external single-action hammer offers the crisp break BFRs are known for. Iron sights consist of a black ramp front post and a fully adjustable square-notch rear; a factory BFR scope base is included for optic users.
PLOW-style white polymer grips contrast the scroll-engraved metalwork and accentuate the revolver’s presentation-grade appearance. With an MSRP of $7,200 at launch and production limited to a single twenty-gun run, this commemorative BFR occupies a special niche for collectors seeking a factory-original, high-horsepower American wheel-gun.
