This scarce IMBEL Model 08/34 started life as a Brazilian Mauser and was factory-converted to .30-06 after World War II when Brazil standardized on the M1949 cartridge. Originally chambered in 7×57 mm, this rifle was rechambered to .30-06 by Brazilian ordnance in the late 1940s, indicated by the “Mod 08/34.30” marking on the receiver. The conversion allowed Brazil to align with Allied ammunition logistics while extending the service life of existing rifles.
A forged-steel receiver and 23.62-inch barrel wear a blued finish that has held up well, with only light handling marks. The turned-down bolt handle provides a lower profile for easier cycling under optics or while shouldered.
The South-American hardwood stock retains its original oil finish, finger grooves, full-length handguard, and steel butt-plate.
