This Russian-built VEPR stands out as a rare, post-ban import that blends the strength of an RPK-pattern receiver with carefully chosen U.S. upgrades. The 1.5 mm stamped steel receiver, heavy RPK trunnion, and cold-hammer-forged chrome-lined barrel deliver the durability collectors expect, while modern furniture and a refined trigger add practical performance for today’s shooter.
Built by Molot-Oruzhie on original RPK tooling, the rifle retains standard AK magazine compatibility and the reliable long-stroke gas system. U.S. importation halted in 2017, increasing demand for authentic Russian examples like this one. A free-float aluminum handguard with rail slots, ALG enhanced single-stage trigger, and Magpul folding/collapsible stock transform the classic platform into a versatile, range-ready carbine without altering its proven core.
The 16.5-inch chrome-lined barrel is threaded 14×1 LH for muzzle devices and maintains a hard-chrome bore for long service life. Factory iron sights—a protected post front and adjustable tangent rear—remain intact. Overall, this VEPR merges collectible provenance with thoughtful, performance-oriented customization.
