Kel-Tec engineered the PMR-30 specifically around the .22 WMR cartridge. Its hybrid operating system begins in a locked-breech configuration and transitions to blow-back as chamber pressure drops, ensuring reliable cycling with high-velocity rimfire loads.
The 4.3-inch barrel features a 1:14 RH twist to stabilize a broad range of bullet weights. A hard-anodized 7075-T6 aluminum receiver is surrounded by a tan Cerakoted Zytel polymer frame, keeping overall weight to just 14 ounces unloaded.
Bright green fiber-optic front and red two-dot rear sights provide a clear, high-contrast sight picture across the 6.9-inch sight radius. Four tapped holes on the polymer top cover let you mount popular micro red-dot optics without additional milling, and a Picatinny accessory rail under the dust cover supports lights or lasers.
The heel-style magazine release and ambidextrous thumb safeties accommodate both right- and left-handed users. PMR-30 magazines are identical to those used in Kel-Tec’s CMR-30 carbine, offering cross-platform convenience. With six magazines included, you get 180 rounds of onboard capacity straight out of the case.
