The SB2 receiver is the strongest offered by NEF, allowing safe use of high-pressure centerfire cartridges and compatibility with the well-known accessory-barrel program. This lets owners fit additional NEF or H&R barrels in various calibers without gunsmith work.
The 22-inch round barrel is carbon steel with a matte blued finish that matches the receiver. A factory-installed Weaver/Picatinny rail replaces open sights, giving the shooter a ready platform for scopes or red dots.
Stock and fore-end are laminated hardwood in a brown/gray/green pattern, providing increased stability against weather changes compared to solid wood. The buttstock includes a ventilated recoil pad and an inlaid brass H&R medallion.
An exposed hammer simplifies operation and offers positive visual confirmation of the rifle’s cocked status. The slim fore-end with finger groove keeps the profile trim while aiding grip from bench or field positions.
