This Variant 1 model features a conventional DA/SA system with a left-side manual safety/decocker, allowing safe carry cocked-and-locked or hammer-down. The ambidextrous paddle-style magazine release and bilateral slide stop cater to right- or left-handed shooters without modification.
The 3.94-inch cold-hammer-forged barrel uses polygonal rifling and an O-ring lock-up for enhanced seal and repeatable barrel positioning. Combined with HK’s patented recoil-reduction system, the pistol is factory-rated for a 20,000-round service life.
A Hostile Environment nitrocarburized slide sports wide front and rear cocking serrations plus an external extractor that doubles as a loaded-chamber indicator. The integral four-slot Picatinny rail accepts lights or lasers, expanding defensive or duty capability.
Fixed three-dot luminous sights offer a 6-inch sight radius for fast target acquisition in low light. Interchangeable backstraps let shooters tailor grip circumference, while the fiber-reinforced polymer frame keeps overall weight down without sacrificing durability.
