This XD Service Model is the baseline 4-inch variant of the Croatian-designed HS 2000, imported by Springfield Armory. Its forged slide and barrel are Melonite treated inside and out, enhancing hardness and corrosion resistance without adding external bulk.
The striker-fired, single-action-only trigger pairs with a grip safety and articulated trigger safety, creating a simple manual of arms while maintaining multiple passive safeties. A loaded-chamber indicator on top of the slide and a rear striker-status indicator provide at-a-glance status checks.
The glass-fiber-reinforced polymer frame keeps weight down and integrates an accessory rail for lights or lasers. Front and rear slide serrations offer solid purchase for chambering rounds or press checks, even with gloved hands.
Standard three-dot dovetail sights are easy to replace with aftermarket options, yet provide a clear sight picture out of the box. The dual captive recoil spring system helps manage the .40 S&W impulse, making this full-size pistol controllable during rapid strings.
