The Black Diamond Express is Thompson Center’s Rochester-made inline that blends modern accuracy with traditional black-powder simplicity. This .50 caliber, single-shot rifle features a 23.5-inch free-floating chromoly barrel, a fast 1:28 twist, and a removable Flame-Thrower breech plug that accepts #11, musket, or 209 primers. A Realtree camouflage Rynite stock and factory fiber-optic sights round out a package built for dependable performance in the field.

Produced in Rochester, New Hampshire, this early-run Black Diamond Express carries serial 116xxx, placing it among the first examples of the model. The rifle’s chromoly construction and matte-blued finish provide solid corrosion resistance while keeping glare to a minimum.
The 23.5-inch, unfluted barrel is free-floating for consistent harmonics and rifled at a 1:28 twist, a rate well suited to modern sabot or conical projectiles. The bore is bright with sharp rifling, evidence of minimal use and careful maintenance.
Thompson Center’s Flame-Thrower breech plug simplifies cleaning and allows the shooter to choose between #11 caps, musket caps, or 209 shotgun primers, giving flexibility in ignition systems without additional parts.
The Monte Carlo Rynite stock wears Realtree camouflage and a ventilated recoil pad. Combined with a 13.75-inch length of pull, it offers a comfortable, repeatable cheek weld for both open-sight and scoped shooting.
Fiber-optic sights come standard, and the receiver is already drilled, tapped, and fitted with a scope rail, making it easy to mount optics for extended range accuracy.
