A cold-hammer-forged, chrome-lined barrel, 1.5 mm stamped receiver with RPK-style bulged trunnion, and factory-installed triangle polymer stock give this rifle proven durability and distinctive style right out of the box.

The heart of the ZPAPM70 is a 1.5 mm stamped steel receiver mated to a bulged RPK-style front trunnion for added strength under sustained fire. Zastava finishes the receiver in a black phosphate coating that resists corrosion while preserving the traditional military look.
Its 16.3-inch cold-hammer-forged, chrome-lined barrel is threaded 14×1 LH and features a robust 23 mm reinforced barrel knuckle. The chrome lining extends service life, simplifies cleaning, and allows confident use with surplus or steel-cased ammunition.
A fixed black polymer triangle stock keeps overall weight manageable and offers a rigid cheek weld uncommon on current U.S.-imported AK rifles. Up front, the Serbian Red wood three-vent handguard provides classic aesthetics and a comfortable grip without adding bulk.
The safety lever includes a bolt-hold-open notch for safer administrative handling, and a bayonet lug remains intact for shooters who value original AKM capability. Import markings read “ZASTAVA ARMS USA DES PLAINES IL,” and the rifle ships with matching-numbered major components.
