Product Description

    Mossberg Model 340KA .22 LR Bolt-Action Rifle, 24-Inch Barrel, 10-Round Magazine, 1960s Production

Built in the United States between 1960 and 1968, the Mossberg Model 340KA is a full-size, bolt-action rimfire that blends classic 1960s styling with practical features still valued today. Its proprietary eight-groove AC'KRO GRUV rifling, recessed muzzle crown, and hardwood Monte Carlo stock give this rifle a combination of accuracy, durability, and period-correct appeal that stands out to both shooters and collectors.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Good – Shows light, honest use; minor scratching, scuffing, and small blemishes are present on the metal and wood surfaces.

Bore Condition: Good – Clean and well-maintained with slight wear; rifling is sharp and well-defined.

    What’s Included

    • Mossberg Model 340KA rifle
    • One factory 10-round sheet-steel detachable box magazine

The 24-inch steel barrel features Mossberg’s AC'KRO GRUV rifling—a distinctive eight-groove pattern designed to enhance bullet stability. Coupled with a recessed crown and a 1:16 RH twist, the barrel is engineered for reliable accuracy with standard and high-velocity .22 LR loads.

The hardwood stock carries a satin oil finish, a Monte Carlo comb with right-hand cheek-piece, and a white-line butt-plate spacer that is emblematic of Mossberg’s 1960s design language. Integral sling-swivel studs allow easy attachment of a carrying strap for field use.

Sight regulation comes from a drift-adjustable folding leaf rear sight paired with a ramped front blade. The two-position safety is positioned for straightforward operation, and the rifle’s hammerless bolt-action keeps cycling smooth and consistent.

Because it predates the 1968 Gun Control Act, the rifle was manufactured without a serial number—a normal and fully legal characteristic of many rimfires from this era. It accepts both 7- and 10-round Mossberg pattern magazines; one 10-round unit accompanies this sale.
