Thompson/Center Black Diamond Stainless Composite .50 Cal Inline Muzzleloader – 23.5" Stainless Barrel
The Thompson/Center Black Diamond Stainless Composite was among the first mass-market inline rifles to pair a corrosion-resistant stainless barrel and receiver with a lightweight synthetic stock. This full-size .50 caliber muzzleloader features a free-floating 23.5" barrel, a fast 1:28 RH twist optimized for modern saboted bullets, and T/C’s removable Flame-Thrower breech plug that accepts #11, musket-cap, or 209-primer nipples. Built in the 1990s, it serves as an important bridge between the earlier System 1 and the later Omega lines, giving shooters reliable ignition, easy cleaning, and stainless durability in the field.

What’s Included
- Weaver-style two-piece scope bases (installed)
The matte stainless barrel and receiver resist rust and fouling, making this rifle well-suited to black-powder hunting in wet climates. A free-floating barrel and single-stage trigger promote consistent accuracy, while the 1:28 twist stabilizes popular saboted projectiles for extended range performance.
The removable Flame-Thrower breech plug simplifies cleaning and lets the shooter choose from #11, musket-cap, or 209-primer ignition systems without additional parts. This flexibility was ahead of its time and remains valuable for hunters who travel across states with varying ignition regulations.
The black synthetic stock keeps overall weight down and adds durability. Molded diamond checkering offers a positive grip even with gloved hands, and the recoil pad helps tame stout hunting loads. A 14.0" length of pull fits most adult shooters comfortably.
Adjustable fiber-optic sights—red up front, green at the rear—provide an easy sight picture in low light. The factory-drilled receiver carries installed Weaver bases, so adding a scope is quick and straightforward.
