Product Description

    Plainfield M1 Carbine .30 Carbine Semi-Automatic Rifle | Late-1960s Commercial Production

This Plainfield Machine Co. M1 Carbine delivers the classic wartime profile in a late-1960s commercial build. Notable for its fully U.S. GI-compatible parts, ventilated steel handguard, and Type-1 barrel band without a bayonet lug, it offers collectors and shooters an authentic feel with the convenience of modern manufacture. The rifle retains the original 18-inch barrel, a hardwood low-wood stock, and blued/parkerized steel throughout.

    What’s Included

    • Plainfield M1 Carbine rifle
    • 2 30-round steel magazines
    • 1 15-round steel magazine

Produced in the late 1960s to early 1970s, this mid-production Plainfield falls into the no-letter serial block, a period known for strong parts interchangeability with wartime carbines. Approximately 112,000 Plainfield carbines were manufactured, placing this example among the more desirable commercial runs.

The rifle uses a short-stroke gas piston with a rotating bolt, mirroring the military design. The right-side charging handle, steel receiver, and blued/parkerized finish preserve the familiar handling characteristics and durable exterior.

An oil-finished hardwood low-wood stock provides a solid, utilitarian grip, while the ventilated steel upper handguard—distinctive to Plainfield—improves barrel cooling during extended firing. The narrow Type-1 barrel band maintains the WWII contour and omits a bayonet lug for a cleaner, lighter front end.

Sights follow the later WWII pattern: a fixed blade front flanked by protective ears and a PMC-marked stamped rear sight with dual apertures and windage adjustment, giving users quick and precise target acquisition.

Chambered in .30 Carbine with a 30+1 capacity, the rifle arrives with two 30-round and one 15-round magazines—ready for range sessions or historical display.
