The serialized Central Operating Group forms the heart of the Echelon system, allowing the fire-control chassis to be moved between grip modules or serviced independently of the frame.
Springfield’s Variable Interface System provides a low-profile, direct-mount optics footprint covered by a steel plate when iron sights are preferred. No adapter plates are needed for many leading red-dot models, streamlining sight installation and preserving a lower bore axis.
The compact slide features deep forward and rear cocking serrations plus forward trench serrations for confident press checks. A 4-inch hammer-forged barrel with 1:10-inch right-hand twist delivers duty-grade accuracy, while the flat-faced trigger and integrated blade safety promote a consistent break.
Both slide-stop levers and the reversible magazine release are ambidextrous from the factory, supporting left- or right-handed shooters without modification. The textured polymer grip ships with three FDE backstraps to fine-tune fit.
Tritium/luminescent sights—yellow-outlined front blade and tactical-rack U-notch rear—ensure 24-hour visibility. Combined with the 15+1 capacity and tool-free 90-degree takedown lever that requires no trigger pull, the Echelon 4.0 C offers a balanced blend of modern defensive features in a compact footprint.
