The 22-inch carbon-steel barrel is button-rifled, heavy-contour, and threaded 5/8-24 for easy muzzle-device or suppressor installation. Its free-floating design inside the rigid MDT chassis promotes consistent harmonic performance shot after shot.
Savage’s user-adjustable AccuTrigger (factory set between 2.5 – 6 lb) combines a crisp break with an integrated safety blade for confident, customizable control. A two-position tang safety allows quick status checks without shifting grip.
The aluminum chassis wears an OD-green polymer skin and includes an integral pistol grip, adjustable comb, and spacer-adjustable length of pull (14.75 inches default). Six M-LOK slots per side on the square-profile forend accept bipods, rails, or other accessories, while a full-length top rail readies the receiver for optics.
A paddle-style, ambidextrous magazine release works with the supplied 10-round AICS magazines, giving shooters a familiar, competition-grade reload method. At 9.9 lb factory weight, the AXIS II Precision balances stability with carry practicality for range or field use.
