Introduced in 2008, the Lightweight Varminter-T variant of the Model 25 features a free-floating, button-rifled 24-inch carbon-steel barrel with a 1:9 RH twist. The medium/heavy contour promotes stability and heat resistance during extended shot strings, helping maintain accuracy on small targets at distance.
The laminated hardwood thumb-hole stock provides a solid shooting platform with pillar bedding, a beavertail and ventilated fore-end, and a rubber recoil pad. Sling-swivel studs are installed for easy field carry or bipod attachment.
Savage’s user-adjustable AccuTrigger lets the shooter fine-tune pull weight from roughly 2.5 to 6 pounds while maintaining a crisp break and integral blade-in-trigger safety. A top-tang safety adds further control.
The scaled mini-action keeps overall weight down while still housing a detachable 4-round magazine, giving the rifle a 4+1 capacity. Factory two-piece Weaver bases are already in place, so optics can be mounted without additional hardware.
