Manufactured in November 1977, this P1 embodies late-production upgrades, most notably the hex-bolt reinforcement in the frame that adds strength to the alloy receiver. The pistol retains its original hard-anodized black finish on the frame and black-oxide finish on the slide, both showing only light handling marks.
The P1 keeps the proven Walther DA/SA trigger system, providing a smooth double-action first shot followed by crisp single-action follow-ups. A slide-mounted safety/decocker allows safe hammer lowering, while the loaded-chamber indicator offers instant visual and tactile status checking.
Service-length 4.9-inch barrel and full-size sight radius support accurate shooting. Iron sights include an integral front blade and a drift-adjustable rear U-notch for precise zeroing.
Other functional details include the heel-style magazine release, exposed hammer, and checkered black synthetic grips that give a secure hold without adding weight.
