Smith & Wesson M&P9 Shield 1.0 9mm with Apex Duty/Carry Trigger & Manual Thumb Safety – Early HBB-Prefix
This first-generation M&P9 Shield pairs Smith & Wesson’s slim, single-stack 9mm platform with the Apex Duty/Carry Action Enhancement Kit for a lighter, crisper trigger break. An early HBB-prefix example from 2013, it retains the sought-after manual thumb safety and omits a magazine disconnect. The pistol remains in excellent condition and comes with four factory magazines, original parts, and the factory box.

The Apex Duty/Carry Action Enhancement Kit replaces the factory sear and trigger components, delivering a smoother take-up, shorter reset, and an approximate 5.0–5.5 lb break while preserving all factory safeties. The original parts are included for easy reversion if desired.
At 0.95 in. wide and just over 20 oz. unloaded, the Shield’s micro footprint makes it convenient for discreet carry without sacrificing shootability. The 3.1 in. stainless barrel and Armornite-treated slide resist corrosion and wear.
Wave-pattern rear serrations provide positive purchase for charging, and the fixed 3-dot sights offer a clear, familiar sight picture. The rear sight is drift adjustable for windage.
This pistol ships with both flush-fit and extended magazines, allowing the shooter to choose between maximum concealment (7-round) or a full firing grip with an extra round on board (8-round). The manual thumb safety adds an extra layer of control for users who prefer a positive on-frame safety.
