Remington Model 870 Express 12 Gauge Pump, 28-Inch Vent-Rib Barrel, 2 ¾"/3" Chamber, Matte Blue
Remington’s Model 870 Express remains one of the most widely trusted pump-action shotguns ever produced. This full-size 12 gauge example combines the proven twin-action-bar design with a 28-inch vent-rib barrel threaded for Rem Chokes, giving the shooter versatility for hunting, clays, or general field use. Built in Ilion, New York, and marked with the “RS” serial prefix, it represents the final production era before the Express line was discontinued and replaced by the Fieldmaster series.

The heart of the 870 design is its dual steel action bars. They keep the fore-end travel smooth and eliminate binding, so follow-up shots cycle reliably even under field conditions. A cross-bolt safety positioned behind the trigger guard offers intuitive operation for right-handed shooters.
The 28-inch carbon-steel barrel sports a vent rib for quick target alignment and a single front bead sight. It is threaded for Rem Choke tubes, and an installed Modified (M) choke provides a balanced pattern suited to upland birds and general clay target work.
This Express variant wears economy-grade hardwood furniture with a satin finish. Checkering on the stock and fore-end delivers a secure grip, while a factory rubber recoil pad helps manage 2 ¾-inch and 3-inch magnum loads. A 14-inch length of pull fits most adult shooters comfortably.
The matte-blue finish on the receiver and barrel reduces glare in bright hunting environments. Capacity is four rounds in the magazine plus one in the chamber, giving ample firepower without adding unnecessary weight.
