Dan Wesson Silverback 10mm Two-Tone 1911 Pistol – Discontinued 2016 Production, Match-Grade 5" Barrel
Built in 2016 during the short 2015–2017 production run, this Dan Wesson Silverback pairs a brushed stainless slide with a black Duty-nitride frame—the only dual-tone pistol ever cataloged by the company. It runs the potent 10mm cartridge from an 8-round single-stack magazine and features a hand-fitted, match-grade stainless barrel for tight accuracy. A hand-lapped slide-to-frame fit held to ±0.001" tolerances, 25 LPI checkering, and Trijicon tritium night sights round out a full-size 1911 built for precision and control.

The Silverback’s two-tone finish is factory-applied: a brushed stainless slide over a black Duty-nitrided stainless frame. This contrast is unique within the Dan Wesson catalog and gives the pistol an immediately recognizable profile.
A 5-inch, hand-fitted, match-grade stainless barrel is flush-crowned for consistent exit and protected rifling. The precise slide-to-frame fit—lapped by hand to ±0.001"—delivers repeatable lock-up and tight mechanical accuracy.
Front and rear cocking serrations, plus a serrated top rib, offer confident manipulation while reducing glare along the sight plane. Trijicon tritium night sights include a dovetailed green-dot front and a fully adjustable rear for fast target acquisition in any light.
Ergonomics are enhanced by 25 LPI checkering on both the frontstrap and mainspring housing, a skeletonized trigger with an over-travel stop, and a commander-style skeletonized hammer. Grey/black G10 “X” motif grips provide a secure hold and complement the two-tone aesthetic.
Discontinued after 2017, the Silverback remains sought after for its limited production, meticulous workmanship, and the hard-hitting 10 mm chambering.
