The 92FS’s open-top slide virtually eliminates stovepipe failures and showcases the classic Beretta profile. An enlarged hammer-pin head, unique to the FS pattern, adds an extra layer of safety by preventing slide separation under extreme stress.
A forged 7075-T6 aluminum-alloy frame keeps weight manageable while maintaining rigidity. The Bruniton coating on both frame and slide resists corrosion and wear, making this pistol well-suited for regular range use or defensive carry.
Controls are set up for versatility: an ambidextrous manual safety/decocker, a reversible magazine release, and a smooth DA/SA trigger with an over-travel stop. The rounded spur hammer provides positive purchase without snagging.
The 4.9-inch carbon-steel barrel is chrome-lined and finished with a recessed crown to protect the rifling. A fixed front blade with a single white dot pairs with a dovetailed low-profile rear sight to form the familiar 3-dot sight picture.
