Imported under the Sile name, this revolver represents a discontinued line that has developed a niche following among black-powder enthusiasts and Remington collectors alike. The Sile importer stamp sits alongside Gardone proof marks, allowing precise year-of-proof research for those who track Italian date codes.
The solid steel frame mirrors the strength of the original Remington design and supports the quick-change cylinder feature that made the 1858 famous in its era. All major components—barrel, frame, and six-shot cylinder—are stainless steel for durability and ease of maintenance.
An octagonal 8-inch barrel paired with fixed iron sights delivers the familiar sight picture of the original service revolver. The dovetail-mounted front post and top-strap notch rear sight are cut cleanly into the stainless steel, maintaining zero without drift.
Smooth hardwood grips fit the grip frame precisely, offering a comfortable hold without altering the historic profile. With its exposed hammer, single-action mechanism, and six-round .44 caliber percussion cylinder, this revolver stays true to the operation and handling of its 19th-century inspiration.
