What’s Included
- Colt Model 1851 Navy 2nd Generation C-Series revolver, serial number 19982
Produced in 1975, this Navy flavor of Colt’s Blackpowder series retains the exact 7.5-inch octagonal barrel profile of the original Civil War-era sidearm, yet benefits from modern metallurgy and factory craftsmanship of the 1970s. The high-polish blue finish is complemented by gold-plated brass on the trigger guard and back-strap, plus dual gold bands at the muzzle and rear of the cylinder.
Sam Welch’s signature “S. WELCH” is stamped discreetly beneath the barrel lug, certifying the work as authentic Colt master engraving. The revolver displays full-coverage scroll accented with a rampant Colt motif, all cut by hand and highlighted with gold inlay lines that frame key surfaces.
A smooth one-piece white grip provides a dramatic contrast against the deep blue metal. The loading lever retains a mottled case-colored link, adding another layer of period-correct detail.
This presentation-grade C-Series revolver is both limited in production and factory authenticated, making it a standout acquisition for collectors of second-generation Colts or finely engraved black-powder arms.
