Springfield Armory M1A Scout Squad .308 Win with VLTOR CASV-14 Rail & Collapsible EMOD Stock
This customized Springfield Armory M1A Scout Squad pairs the proven 18-inch, chrome-moly lined barrel of the Scout with a full suite of VLTOR upgrades. A CASV-14 extended aluminum handguard gives you a continuous 17-inch Picatinny rail from the receiver to the gas block, while the VLTOR M1-S system adds an EMOD five-position, FDE buttstock and QD sling sockets. An aftermarket multi-port muzzle brake rounds out a build focused on control, modularity, and reliable .308 Win performance.

What’s Included
- Springfield Armory M1A Scout Squad rifle configured with VLTOR CASV-14 handguard, VLTOR M1-S stock system, and muzzle brake
- Two 20-round steel M14/M1A pattern box magazines
The VLTOR CASV-14 handguard replaces the standard Scout fore-end with a rigid, one-piece aluminum chassis. Its full-length 1913 rail allows seamless mounting of optics, clip-on night vision devices, and accessories, while a 6-o’clock rail segment supports lights, bipods, or vertical grips.
VLTOR’s M1-S improved stock adapter accepts AR-pattern buffer tubes, and it arrives here with an EMOD five-position collapsible stock in flat dark earth. The EMOD offers internal storage tubes, a generous cheek weld, and a rubber butt-pad that teams with the multi-port muzzle brake to tame recoil.
Under the upgrades, the rifle retains Springfield’s solid M1A action: a gas-operated, long-stroke piston system in the traditional M14 layout, parkerized 8620 steel receiver, and standard aperture sights with windage and elevation knobs. The 18-inch barrel uses a 1:11 right-hand twist to stabilize a wide range of .308 Win loads.
With a 20+1 round capacity, adjustable overall length, and generous rail real estate, this Scout Squad build offers a versatile platform for field, range, or defensive roles while keeping the heritage and reliability of the M1A design.
