The LC9s marked Ruger’s entry into the striker-fired micro-compact 9mm market. This early example retains the original engineering features that set the model apart at launch, including its single-action, short-reset trigger and integrated blade safety.
Ruger incorporated four safety mechanisms—trigger blade safety, manual thumb safety, magazine disconnect, and striker block—making this pistol stand out among similarly sized micro-9s that often omit manual safeties.
The alloy-steel slide wears a durable matte-blued finish with rear cocking serrations for positive grip. Underneath, the glass-filled nylon frame keeps weight to a minimum while providing a natural pointing angle and aggressive texturing for secure control.
A 3.12-inch barrel with a 1:10 right-hand twist delivers reliable 9mm performance in a compact footprint. Fixed three-dot sights—a pinned steel front and drift-adjustable rear—offer a clear sight picture out of the box.
Because the LC9s shares its footprint with the later EC9s line, owners benefit from broad compatibility with existing LC9/EC9s holsters, lasers, and aftermarket accessories.
