Introduced in late 2019, the 942M brings rimfire magnum performance to a small frame comparable to a J-frame. The alloy-steel construction and matte-black oxide finish balance durability with reduced carry weight.
An eight-round cylinder provides ample capacity for trail, training, or pest-control roles. The external hammer supports both double-action and single-action operation, giving shooters a choice between rapid follow-ups and precision shots.
Accuracy aids include a serrated ramp front blade dovetailed into the barrel and a square-notch rear sight that can be drift-adjusted for windage—an uncommon feature on a 2-inch revolver.
Safety is enhanced by a transfer-bar design and the Taurus Security System, which allows the hammer to be locked with the supplied key for secure storage.
