Kel-Tec PF-9 9mm Luger Semi-Auto Pistol – Slim, Lightweight, 7+1 Carry Option (Discontinued)
The Kel-Tec PF-9 earned attention from concealed-carry enthusiasts when it debuted in 2006 as the thinnest and lightest production 9 mm pistol on the market. Built around a polymer frame with an internal 7075-T6 aluminum chassis, this 7+1 single-stack remains a straightforward, no-nonsense defensive sidearm. The model was discontinued in 2022, giving remaining examples added appeal for shooters who appreciate its minimalist profile and simple double-action-only operation.

Designed by George Kellgren, the PF-9 combines a locked-breech, recoil-operated system with a smooth double-action-only trigger and an internal hammer. The setup keeps the slide profile low while delivering reliable ignition and second-strike capability.
The pistol’s 4140 steel, button-rifled 3.1-inch barrel balances compact length with adequate sight radius. Fixed three-dot sights include a drift-adjustable rear notch, allowing fine windage correction without aftermarket parts.
An integral aluminum chassis anchors the slide rails and houses the visible serial-number window. This chassis, paired with the steel slide finished in black oxide/Parkerized treatment, provides rigidity and corrosion resistance while keeping overall weight to a minimum.
A single-slot accessory rail ahead of the trigger guard offers space for a compact light or laser—an uncommon feature on guns of this size when the PF-9 first launched. Rear slide serrations, a push-button magazine release, and textured grip panels round out a package built for straightforward daily carry.
