Product Description

    Remington Model 700 BDL .243 Win. Bolt-Action Rifle | 1969 First-Generation, 22" Barrel, Jewelled Bolt, Weaver Rings

Built in May 1969, this first-generation Remington Model 700 BDL pairs classic American styling with the flat-shooting .243 Winchester cartridge. The rifle features its original high-polish blued finish, gloss walnut Monte Carlo stock with pressed skip-line fleur-de-lis checkering, and a jeweled bolt body—all traits collectors seek in early BDL production. Factory sling-swivel studs and period-correct 1" Weaver flip-over rings add practical value while preserving period authenticity.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Good – Shows some signs of prior use and handling.
Bore Condition: Good – Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.
Rifling Condition: Good – Intact, well-defined lands and grooves.
Specific Condition Notes: Minor scratching, scuffing, and blemishing are present on the metal surfaces and stock finish.

    What’s Included

    • Weaver 1" flip-over scope rings (installed)

This rifle comes from the desirable 1962–1973 BDL run, identifiable by its barrel date code “K S” and early two-pin trigger assembly. The deluxe-grade hinged floorplate and internal four-round magazine retain the classic BDL look while allowing a fifth round in the chamber.

The 22" carbon-steel barrel and polished blued receiver showcase Remington’s high-polish finish of the era, offering both visual appeal and corrosion resistance. Despite its age, the bore remains bright with crisp rifling, reflecting careful upkeep.

The walnut stock’s Monte Carlo comb and cheek-piece provide a comfortable cheek weld, and pressed skip-line checkering ensures a sure grip without the high cost of cut checkering. A gloss finish highlights the grain and complements the blued steel.

An engine-turned bolt body adds a touch of refinement while reducing friction, and the factory sling-swivel studs make it easy to add a carry sling for field use. The installed Weaver flip-over rings are period-correct, simplifying optic mounting without altering the rifle’s vintage character.
