This Thompson/Center Hawken combines classic Mountain rifle lines with modern manufacturing quality. A 28-inch blued octagonal barrel, walnut half-stock, and brass furniture mirror the original 19th-century design, while a 1:48 twist and double-set triggers give it the accuracy and versatility black-powder shooters expect. Factory scroll engraving on the lock plate and a full suite of included loading accessories make this rifle a ready-to-shoot package for hunters, target shooters, or collectors seeking a well-kept reproduction of an American icon.

The Hawken pattern is one of Thompson/Center’s cornerstone models, introduced in 1970 and carried through production for more than four decades. This .50 caliber example retains the period-correct half-stock layout with a brass patchbox, trigger guard, butt-plate, and nose cap—elements that give the rifle its unmistakable frontier appearance.
The 28" blued octagonal barrel features a 1:48 twist, a compromise rate capable of stabilizing both patched round balls and conical Maxi-style bullets. Paired with an external percussion hammer and No. 11 nipple, the rifle is set up for black powder or Pyrodex charges only, keeping it compliant with traditional muzzleloader seasons.
Shooting comfort and precision are enhanced by the double-set, double-lever trigger system. The front trigger can be set as a conventional single-stage, or the rear trigger can be pulled first to deliver a feather-light release for bench or long-range work.
Sights consist of a dovetailed blade up front and an adjustable semi-buckhorn at the rear, allowing precise elevation changes without altering the rifle’s authentic profile. The walnut stock includes a cheekpiece on the left side and measures a 14.25" length of pull, accommodating most adult shooters with ease.
Factory scroll engraving on the lock plate adds a subtle touch of craftsmanship rarely found on modern production muzzleloaders. Combined with its well-maintained bore and a comprehensive accessory kit, this Hawken arrives ready for the range—or to take a prominent place in a traditional firearms collection.
