The Specialist Commander is Dan Wesson’s duty-ready take on the classic Commander-length 1911. Built on a forged stainless frame with an integral Picatinny rail, this .45 ACP pistol combines match-grade parts, night sights, and carry-oriented controls in a compact, 4.25-inch package. Its factory 25 LPI checkering, undercut trigger guard, and detachable magazine-well funnel give the shooter a secure, high grip while speeding reloads. All components are Series 70-pattern with no firing-pin block, preserving the crisp single-action trigger pull collectors and serious shooters expect.

The forged stainless frame incorporates a true 1913 rail for weapon lights or lasers, expanding its defensive versatility. Dan Wesson machines the slide with both front and rear cocking serrations plus an inverted top rib that reduces glare during sight pictures.
A match-grade, bushing-mounted stainless barrel provides tight lock-up and repeatable accuracy. At 4.25 inches, it offers a balance of velocity and maneuverability well-suited to concealed carry or duty use.
The pistol ships with fixed tritium night sights: a single-dot Novak-style front and a ledge rear for one-handed slide manipulation.
