The Omni Hybrid combines a patented glass-fiber-reinforced polymer receiver set with familiar AR-15 controls, giving shooters a lighter carbine without sacrificing compatibility. Built in Summerville, South Carolina after American Tactical’s 2013 move, this factory OD-green rifle offers a 16-inch, 1:8 twist barrel and arrives optics-ready with a Tasco ProPoint red-dot already installed.

American Tactical’s hybrid receiver design (U.S. Patents 9068786 & 8793305) bonds metal inserts to high-strength polymer, shaving weight while maintaining critical reinforcement. The result is a carbine that tips the scales at roughly 6.25 pounds, making it easy to carry without altering standard AR-15 parts compatibility.
The 16-inch steel barrel uses a 1:8 right-hand twist to stabilize a broad range of 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington bullet weights. A medium profile balances rigidity and weight, while the factory-installed A2 flash hider screws onto standard 1/2-28 threads for quick attachment of muzzle devices or suppressor mounts.
Receivers are molded in OD-green for a distinctive factory finish, complemented by black MIL-SPEC furniture. A six-position collapsible stock adjusts length of pull to approximately 10 inches, and the carbine-length ribbed polymer handguard keeps heat in check while retaining the classic delta-ring look.
The flat-top Picatinny upper comes with no iron sights, allowing the included Tasco ProPoint 1×30 red-dot to sit at the ideal height for rapid target acquisition. The lower is marked “MULTI-CAL” for flexibility with future upper assemblies.
