Colt Government Model .380 Mark IV Series 80 Pocketlite – .380 ACP, 3.25-Inch Barrel, Two-Tone Lightweight Alloy/Steel
Produced for only a few years, the Colt Government Pocketlite blends 1911 ergonomics with a compact, 14.75-ounce alloy frame. This 78 %-scale pistol retains the familiar single-action trigger, Series 80 safety system, and external rowel hammer while shedding weight through its 7075-T6 aluminum receiver. A brushed stainless slide, matte electroless-nickel frame, and factory black composition grips complete the recognizable two-tone appearance.

What’s Included
- Colt Government Model .380 Mark IV Series 80 Pocketlite pistol
- 1× 6-round factory Colt single-stack .380 ACP magazine
This Pocketlite variant was built in 1998, near the end of the model’s 1991–1997 production span, making surviving examples increasingly hard to find. The serial prefix “GP” confirms its Government Pocketlite designation.
The 3.25-inch stainless barrel and longer grip frame give shooters a full three-finger purchase while keeping overall size minimal. Despite the compact dimensions, the pistol uses standard Government .380 and Mustang magazines (reduced capacity in the Government frame).
An aluminum alloy frame finished in matte electroless nickel provides corrosion resistance while keeping weight low. Rear slide serrations, fixed sights, and the omission of a grip safety keep the profile sleek for concealed carry.
The Series 80 firing-pin block, manual thumb safety, and inertial firing pin deliver multiple layers of mechanical safety without altering the crisp single-action trigger pull that 1911 enthusiasts expect.
