The Mod.2 Service Model is the duty-length variant of the XD-40 series, featuring a forged carbon-steel slide with deep front and rear serrations and a corrosion-resistant Melonite finish.
Its 4-inch, hammer-forged barrel is Melonite treated inside and out for extended service life and easy maintenance. The clean bore and sharp rifling underscore how little this example has been fired.
The Grip Zone frame combines three distinct textures to lock the hand in place while retaining comfort during extended sessions. An ambidextrous push-button magazine release supports either-hand operation.
Safety is fully passive: a pivoting trigger safety, grip safety, striker block, out-of-battery disconnect, and both tactile and visual loaded-chamber and cocked-striker indicators.
Bright red fiber-optic front and low-profile two-dot rear sights deliver quick target acquisition. A single-slot MIL-STD-1913 rail accepts lights or lasers for low-light versatility.
